In 'Rise of the Lumberlord,' you're tasked with protecting a secluded island village from a menacing portal. Navigate through action-packed challenges, confront monsters, and defeat the boss to prevent invasion. With its charming low-poly visuals, this RPG offers a thrilling solo adventure.
I assumed the role of combat designer, refining mechanics utilizing Unity's tools. Additionally, I crafted visuall effects, calibrated player controls for responsiveness, scripted diverse enemy behaviors and a loyal pet companion. Furthermore, I orchestrated challenging boss encounters and optimized performance through scripting.
Combat Design:
Took charge of combat design using Unity's raycasts and colliders. Reflecting on the project, I discovered a more efficient method for combat mechanics post-development, realizing the benefits of calculating player distance and angle for smoother gameplay.
Visual Effects:
Employed pre-bought assets to craft captivating visual effects, learning to optimize resources for an immersive gaming experience.
Player Controller: Engineered a responsive player controller, focusing on refining character movement and action mechanics for precise gameplay.
Enemy Behavior:
Scripted diverse enemy behaviors using Unity's NavMesh, creating challenging AI encounters and refining gameplay balance.
Pet: I designed and scripted our game's sole pet companion, focusing on authentic behavior and interaction. The aim was to enrich the player's experience with subtle companionship and meaningful engagement.
Boss Behavior:
Conceptualized and implemented a formidable boss character, aiming to enrich gameplay with dynamic challenges and strategic depth.
Scripting:
I applied my scripting skills to develop gameplay features, prioritizing performance optimization. I also extended my contributions to include scripting for UI elements and animations, aiming for a cohesive player experience.
